RALWax;
Pelletized pure paraffin wax with plastic co-polymers providing a hard white wax of amorphous particle structure - MP 58 - 60 C. Supplied in packs of 10Kgs (22.5 lbs).
APPLICATIONS:
1. Particularly hard or fibrous routine tissue may be cut more easily if, after standard processing in LambWax or Pure Paraffin Wax, they are then vacuum embedded in RALWax.
2. Freeze-dried tissues, where immunohistochemistry is not required, particularly tissues that have been vapour fixed after freeze-drying.
3. Bone sectioning either undecalcified (Sellotape or Tripp and Mackay techniques) or decalcified (e.g. trephine biopsies).
